How do I sign up for Primus Business Broadband?

Simply call one of our sales executives at 0800 036 3698.  Take a look at the packages we offer in order to discuss which is right for you and your company.

 

How long will it take to acquire the service?

Usually quite quickly, the most it should take to get your Primus Broadband up and running is two weeks – depending on whether you’re migrating from another ISP or starting fresh with broadband for the first time.

 

Can I set up a wireless connection?

Of course!  Wireless means that network signals are sent via radio waves rather than actual wires allowing PCs to go online without cumbersome cables and taking up space in the office.  You will need two things in order to install a wireless network to your Primus Broadband connection:

  • Wireless Router –  Click here for Primus’ wireless hardware options
  • Wireless Connectivity from each PC that requires it.

 

After ensuring you are equipped for wireless internet, follow these steps:

1. Connect router to broadband line from telephone line splitter.
2. Set up network by following instructions included with wireless router.
3. Set up Wireless Network Connections on your PC according to your operating system.

 

Who should I call if I have a question?

With any Primus Business Solution, the first point of contact is your named personal account manager.  Please refer to their direct line number provided with your original broadband documentation.

 

What are the up/download limits with Primus Business Broadband?

There aren’t currently any limits to how much information can pass through your broadband connection.  However, because Primus works on what’s called the contention system – we do have to manage particular users who might be slowing down the connection for others.  You will be notified if your usage is surpassing what is considered to be fair.

 

How do I switch from another internet provider to Primus?

This process, known as migration, is a relatively painless one, as long as you ensure to take the correct steps.

1. Do not cancel your existing broadband connection.
2. Obtain a MAC key (Migration Access Code) from your current broadband provider and supply to Primus account manager or sales executive.

 

MAC Format:

BBIP or FTIP, 12 numbers, forward slash, 2 letters, 1 number, 2 letters.
Example:  BBIP123456789098/DT9AA
