When you start Thunderbird, you may be prompted with the following screen if you have another email client configured on your system.
Just select ‘Don’t import anything’
Click ‘Next’
Otherwise go to ‘Tools’ then ‘Account Settings’
Select ‘Add Account’

Select ‘Email Account’
Click ‘Next’

Enter your email account and name
Click ‘Next’
Step 4
Ensure ‘POP’ is selected.
Enter the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

You also have the option of selecting to create a separate mailbox; this is just in case you wish to have multiple email accounts and wish to keep the mailboxes separate. If this is the case uncheck the box.
Click ‘Next
Step 5
Enter your username or email address
Click ‘Next
Step 6
Give your account a name or leave the default of your email address.
Click ‘Next’
Step 7
Check that the information matches image below
Click Finish
Thunderbird will now try to download your emails but will need authentication
Enter your password and select Use Password Manager
